Oh, you devious ad boards. I'm not talking about anti-capitalism, ruining the purity of the game, deviousness or any nonsense like that. I'm talking about the fact that they are rather close to the field and a player could crash into them. Carlos Bocanegra happened to be one of those players.

The United States captain ended up in a footrace with Tosaint Ricketts for a ball near the end line, which went out for a goal kick. But after the ball went over the line, Bocanegra and Ricketts had trouble stopping. Bocanegra really, really had trouble stopping, taking an innocent, unintentional nudge from Ricketts that sent him into the ad board. He stayed down for a few seconds before getting up, clearly shaken. He's still on the field and moving around just fine, but he will have a bruise tomorrow.
