Berlusconi Confirms Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva To PSG

The major Italian calcio outlets, La Gazzetta and Corriere Dello Sport, are both reporting that the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva has been confirmed. AC Milan owner and president, Silvio Berlusconi, spoke about the sale, saying both players would wear the Paris Saint-Germain shirt next season. In his typical Berlusconi way, he also bragged about saving €150 million euro with the sale of both players -- we're going to assume that has something to do with Ibra's €12m per season wages, as the reported price for the former rossoneri was said to be in the region of €65m.

Zlatan may be one of the best footballers on earth (he’ll certainly tell you so) but considering his wages, selling the Swede was very good business for Milan. More worrisome is trying to replace Thiago Silva. The rossoneri may have managed second last season, but their defence still had its moments of weakness. The Brazilian was the true bright spot at the back, and finding an adequate substitute could take some doing.

Meanwhile, PSG should start their party: everyone knows that where Zlatan goes, trophies follow.
