Chelsea Vs. MLS, 2012 All-Star Game: Halftime, Wondolowski And Terry Trade Goals

The first 45 minutes of the MLS All-Star Game at PPL Park is in the books and the teams are all even at 1-1. The MLS team got off to a bright start when Chris Wondolowski scored to put them a goal up, but John Terry had an answer for them and sent the match to the second half on level terms.

Wondolowski's goal was the stereotypical Wondolowski goal. There was no great run, pass or finish involved in the goal at all. The ball got wide to Thierry Henry, who knocked in a average ball to the middle. Terry then completely blew the clearance and left the ball in front for Wondolowski to knock home for the opening tally. It wasn't fancy or even impressive, but it rarely is with Wondolowski. Well, unless you look at his goal total. That's impressive.

Terry was able to make up for his mistake on Wondolowski's goal in the 32nd minute, though. The center back gave Aurelien Collin a well-disguised shove in the back then rose high to snap a header past Jimmy Nielsen and get the Blues even.

Aside from the goals, which weren’t particularly pretty anyway, there wasn’t much to talk about in the first half. I know, it’s shocking that a team in the preseason and another thrown together two days ago did not play beautiful soccer.
