Wales midfielder Joe Allen has completed his move to Liverpool following a protracted transfer saga. Allen, 22, will reunite with former manager Brendan Allen as he looks to transform Liverpool's style of play into a more flowing, attack-minded game. The cost was a cool £15M -- Swansea really did not want to let go of one of their key players so soon after losing out on Gylfi Sigurdsson and getting their manager poached by the Reds.

Brendan Rodgers has been reunited with 22-year-old midfielder Joe Allen, who has joined Liverpool from Swansea City for £15M.

Liverpool are expecting quite a lot out of their new signing, and Rodgers took the opportunity to lavish him with praise:

Joe has had a fantastic education at Swansea City and will now begin the next chapter in his exciting career, and I wish him all the very best in what I'm sure will be a long and distinguished career here at Liverpool.
If the Reds opt for a 4-2-3-1 system reminiscent of Rodgers' Swansea, it's easy to imagine Allen fitting in alongside Lucas Leiva and behind Steven Gerrard. What this means for the future of Charlie Adam is unclear. For Liverpool's sake, hopefully it means that that experiment is officially done.
