Antonio Conte has stated that he expects to be on the bench for Juventus' season-opener against Parma and is confident that his 10-month ban will be overturned.

The Bianconeri boss and his assistant manager Angelo Alessio were both given bans by the Italian Football Federation after allegedly failing to report incidents of match-fixing while in charge at Siena.

Conte, however, is confident that he will be fully acquitted as he appeals against the charges, stating in an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport: “If I was offered just a three-month ban today, my answer would be no.

"I didn't do anything wrong, or neglect to report what I knew.

“Therefore I’m staying calm and I’m confident that I’ll be on the bench for our game against Parma.”

Conte also blasted key witness Filippo Carobbio, claiming: “Carobbio continued to change his statement like a chameleon, tailored to what (prosecutor Stefano) Palazzi wanted to hear. He changed his story one last time, coincidentally three days before my initial hearing.

"Would I have been so stupid to leave myself open to blackmail from 25 players?"

The verdict on Conte’s appeal is expected to be announced on Wednesday.
