The Italian Football Federation have rejected Juventus manager Antonio Conte's appeal against his ten-month ban.

The former Bari and Atalanta manager had previously commented on his optimism at being cleared of all charges after he appealed against the ban received after the was found guilty of failing to report two incidents of match-fixing while in charge at Siena, and his legal team would otherwise have hoped to have his punishment reduced, but the full ban has been upheld by the Italian Football Federation. Assistant Angelo Alessio, however, has had his suspension reduced from eight months to six.

There will surely now be speculation over whether Juventus will continue to stand by their manager. Although Massimo Carrera is taking charge of the Bianconeri on match days, Conte has continued to train and work with the team behind the scenes.

Conte is now expected to appeal to the Italian Olympic Committee’s TNAS Appeal court.
