Liverpool have agreed to a deal to sign Nuri Sahin on a one-year loan from Real Madrid, the club have confirmed.

Liverpool have agreed a deal with Real Madrid to sign Nuri Sahin on a one-year loan deal, subject to a medical.
Arsenal were also in competition to sign the Turkish playmaker, but the Reds have apparently offered to pay a greater percentage of his wages, which, along with Arsenal's inability to negotiate a deal to buy the player outright at the end off the season, helped seal the deal.
The Turkey international was signed to a six-year deal at Real Madrid when he moved from Borussia Dortmund, but has only made 11 appearances for Los Merengues, partly due to injury.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rogers stated: “Nuri is going to be very important for us. First and foremost, he’s one who can affect the game going forward. He’s a technician who can tactically participate in the game which is important. He understands how to control games. He’s dynamic, he’s industrious and he possesses great quality.
“He will come in and make the squad competitive. I know he’s going to be a player who the supporters will really take to.”
Sahin will not be available for Liverpool's game against Manchester City on Sunday, but he could make his debut in their next game against Arsenal.
