It looks as though AC Milan have found the replacement for departed Dutch destroyer Mark van Bommel. They're replacing him with his stabbier compatriot. Enter Nigel de Jong, who, until earlier today, played for English Premier League champions Manchester CIty. Milan have been decimated this summer, losing both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain, and de Jong is hardly a sexy buy.
Nigel De Jong Set For AC Milan Move
Manchester City are on the verge of selling Dutch midfielder Nigel de Jong to AC Milan.

He is, however, a very useful one. He's essentially a more dynamic van Bommel, and he'll replicate the steel (and more besides) that his countryman provided at the San Siro. Manchester City have already replaced him with Jack Rodwell, signed from Everton, so they were only too happy to let the 27-year-old depart for Italy for a reported price of €5M.
No, this deal isn’t official yet, but with only a medical between him and completion and de Jong telling reporters how happy is to have joined Milan, we can be pretty sure that this will go through by the deadline on Friday.
