West Ham Sign Chelsea’s Yossi Benayoun On Loan

Yossi Benayoun has returned to former club West Ham on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

West Ham have announced that they have signed Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun on a season-long loan.

The Israeli international will be making a return to familiar ground, having played for the club previously from 2005-2007. The midfielder has been sidelined in the Chelsea squad recently, and spent last season on loan at Arsenal. With Chelsea signing several attacking midfielder this summer, including Marko Marin, Eden Hazard, and Victor Moses, the Blues have decided that there is no place for the former Liverpool man in their squad.

Liverpool had been strongly-tipped to take Benayoun back on loan earlier on deadline day, but after a host of clubs were linked, including QPR, West Ham have finally agreed to sign the player on a year’s loan. Benayoun, who has 88 caps for Israel, will be available to play for West Ham the weekend following the international break, having missed the noon deadline which would’ve made him available to play this weekend.
