Arsenal have finally confirmed their purchase of 27-year-old Spainish international Santi Cazorla from struggling Malaga. Murmurings over a deal first started when details of Malaga's worsening financial situation emerged, and with the exodus from the La Liga club now in full force (striker Salomon Rondon has already gone to Rubin Kazan) Cazorla has emerged as a member of Arsene Wenger's north London revolution, joining fellow new signings Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud at the Emirates.

Widely considered one of the best non-Clasico talents in La Liga, Cazorla had a superb season with Malaga following his €19M transfer from Villarreal. He’ll fit into the Arsenal lineup immediately as an attacking midfielder, and is very capable of playing wide as well. He’s not a long-term buy at 27, but for a reported fee of €15M he certainly helps the Gunners in the here and now, and if they can somehow retain Robin van Persie and acquire the supposedly-available Nuri Sahin from Real Madrid, they’ll be a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League next season.
