Fan Vote Will Determine Which MLS Players Grace FIFA 13’s Cover

Tired of those fat cats at EA deciding which American is on the cover of the FIFA franchise? Well, now it will be decided by mob rule. FIFA 13 will be available in a cover featuring four MLS players, three of whom will be decided by a fan vote. The fourth player will be the top player in MLSsoccer.com’s “24 under 24.”

Each team had one player nominated for the vote. Among the nominees are the somewhat predictable like D.C. United’s Dwayne DeRosario, the LA Galaxy’s Landon Donovan, FC Dallas’ Brek Shea and the Seattle Sounder’s Fredy Montero. Some of the more interesting players to make the cut are recent Designated Player signings such as Frederico Higuain of the Columbus Crew and the Montreal Impact’s Marco Di Vaio. It was also a bit curious to see Matt Pickens chosen as the representative for the Colorado Rapids over such players as Conor Casey and Omar Cummings.
