If there’s one criticism of this week’s selection of top goals, it’s that they’re all very similar - player picks up goal, runs past players, smashes it in from 25 yards. That’s not much of a criticism, because that’s the best kind of goal. Here’s the top 5, with a selfish theme:
Goals of the Week: Greed is good edition
Goals of the week goes Randian as we pick out some DIY goals from around the world, featuring Fredy Guarin and Eden Hazard.

5. Giorgios Karagounis - FULHAM vs. Wigan
Franco Di Santo’s equaliser was another contender, but Karagounis’ first of the season pips him here because we all love to see a shot go in off the post.
4. Gilbert Imbula Wanga - GUINGAMP vs. Le Havre
A quite ridiculous effort from Ligue 2 here. We have no idea why he even thought about shooting from there, but we’re certainly glad that he did.
3. Fredy Guarin - INTERNAZIONALE vs. Bologna
Fredy Guardin was a number of Inter summer signings that fooled us all into thinking they’d actually be a force to be reckoned with this year. We underestimated how awful the rest of their team is, but this is just one of the reasons why Colombia are seriously, seriously good right now.
2. Gokhan Inler - NAPOLI vs. Palermo
Inler doing what he does best, bashing one in from range to help Napoli slay their Sicilian cousins. Walter Gargano never did this, which is one of the reasons Napoli are a better team these days.
1. Eden Hazard - Stoke City vs. CHELSEA
Jon who? Hazard piles on the misery for Stoke by helping to add gloss to the scoreline with this absolute belter.
