Chelsea vs. Southampton: Match preview, TV schedule and team news

Chelsea bid to correct their poor home form as they take on Southampton at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

Julian Finney

Chelsea continue their bid to get back on track in the Premier League with what should be a relatively straightforward encounter at home against Southampton.

An impressive thrashing of Stoke City at the weekend will give the Blues hope of putting a good run together in the league, but Rafael Benitez's side have struggled for form at Stamford Bridge, and Southampton's recent record has seen them lose only two of their last eleven fixtures in the league.

Nonetheless, the Saints will have to contend with the absences of Jose Fonte and Adam Lallana, and will still be very much outsiders for the game. Chelsea have been worrying about the fitness of Demba Ba and Fernando Torres, but both are now fit, with the former expected to start.

Southampton are without Jose Fonte, and while Adam Lallana has returned to training he is not yet ready to start. Youngster Luke Shaw may also be missing for the Saints.
