The New England Revolution have traded up to the top spot in the MLS SuperDraft, while the Portland Timbers have made their way back into the draft. More trades are likely to come ahead of and during the draft itself, which starts at 12 p.m. ET. You can watch live on SB Nation below.
MLS Draft: Revs pick Andrew Farrell No. 1

courtesy of MLSSoccer.comAlthough Farrell was one of Louisville’s top scorers, he is expected to slot in as a defender with the Revolution. Assuming that’s where he plays, he’ll actually bolster one of the stronger parts of the Revolution’s team, as they allowed the ninth fewest goals in MLS.
Farrell was considered to be one of the top athletes in the draft, possessing what scouts called great speed, while being even better in the air. That kind of athleticism could make him a good fit as a centerback or outside back. He’s also a danger getting forward, which could mean that he’ll see some time as a wide midfielder.
