Kennedy Mweene was the clear man of the match on Friday, as he made two massive game-changing plays for Zambia. The Copper Bullets' goalkeeper came up with a massive penalty save, then later converted the game-tying penalty on the other end for his side, as they drew Nigeria 1-1.

Mweene's brilliant save on John Obi Mikel, following Davis Nkausa's foul on Ahmed Musa, came in the first half and send the teams into the break level at 0-0. In the 57th minute, Mikel made up for his earlier miss by dispossessing Rainford Kalaba, then slotting a brilliant through ball into the box for Emmanuel Emenike. He finished comfortably, giving the Super Eagles a 1-0 lead.
Zambia were given a bit of a soft penalty in the 85th minute, when Emmanuel Mayuka had his shirt pulled in the penalty area. Mweene, who had never scored for his country previously, must have impressed manager Hervé Renard with his penalty-taking skills in training, as he surprisingly stepped up to the spot. The keeper placed his shot into the roof of the net, equalizing for his side and sending them level with Nigeria on top of the group, on two points.
Later, Burkina Faso and Ethiopa, who both sit on one point apiece, will have a chance to take command of the group.
