Fiorentina have officially announced the agreement to bring in Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal, although details on the signing are still vague, as excited Viola fans have apparently crashed the club's official website. The teams have agreed terms and are waiting on Rossi's signature.
Giuseppe Rossi on his way from Villarreal
Details on Giuseppe Rossi’s move from Spain to Italy are vague, but both clubs have confirmed that the deal is official.

The Viola are, of course, taking a gamble on the signing of the Italian international. In October 2011, Rossi tore his ACL, causing him to miss six months. Then, back in training in April, he re-injured his right knee, this time requiring him to miss ten months. In other words, it’s been a very long time since anyone has actually seen Rossi in action.
Still, Villarreal, now in the second division in Spain, had kept up hopes that Rossi would return healthy, ready to lead their side back to La Liga. Another day, another blow for the Yellow Submarines
Should Rossi emerge as a healthy player for Fiorentina, he'll be a fantastic addition to Vincenzo Montella's side. In his last full season in Spain, Rossi had 56 appearances in all competitions, scoring 32 goals in the process. As one of the club's top priorities was finding a forward to play alongside Stevan Jovetic, it seems January is shaping up to be a very good month for the Viola. Are their dreams of Champions League football about to become a reality?
