Two Serie A players, Daniele Rugani of Juventus and Manolo Gabbiadini of Sampdoria, have tested positive for Covid-19 amidst the pandemic that led to the league’s suspension.
2 Serie A players test positive for Covid-19, teams in quarantine
Manolo Gabbiadini and Daniele Rugani are the first two players affected by the pandemic.

Rugani didn’t play in his team’s most recent match against Inter Milan, but was on the bench and involved in post-match handshakes and celebrations. Inter’s players are in quarantine as a result, and its Europa League match against Getafe has been cancelled. Gabbiadini recently played in a match against Hellas Verona behind closed doors. All four clubs have suspended training and have placed their players in quarantine.
Italy has the most confirmed cases of Covid-19 of any European country, and the government has ordered all businesses except food and drug stores to close. Serie A matches have been suspended, and the competition will not resume until April 3 at the earliest. No plans have been announced for what might happen if the competition cannot resume next month.
