England vs. Montenegro: Lineups

Andros Townsend starts in place of James Milner for England, while Jack Wilshere is dropped as expected in favour of a Steven Gerrard-Frank Lampard central midfield.

Andros Townsend makes a surprise start for England as they face a must-win game against Montenegro at Wembley.

The Tottenham Hotspur winger starts in place of James Milner on the right side of midfield, with Danny Welbeck on the opposite flank. As expected, Jack Wilshere is also dropped for the game in favour of a Steven Gerrard-Frank Lampard midfield axis. Wayne Rooney starts up front just behind Daniel Sturridge in a familiar role.

Montenegro have several defensive problems, which means Vukasin Poleksic comes in in goal, while Stevan Jovetic plays as a central striker, supported by Filip Kasalica and Dejan Damjanovic.

England starting line-up (4-4-1-1): Joe Hart; Kyle Walker, Phil Jagielka, Gary Cahill, Leighton Baines; Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Andros Townsend, Danny Welbeck; Wayne Rooney; Daniel Sturridge

Montenegro starting line-up (4-3-3): Vukasin Poleksic; Milan Jovanovic, Savo Pavicevic, Stefan Savic, Vladimir Volkov; Mitar Novakovic, Elsad Zverotic, Simon Vukcevic; Filip Kasalica, Stevan Jovetic, Dejan Damjanovic.
