Honduras moved one step closer to qualifying for a second straight World Cup, beating Costa Rica 1-0 on Friday. The win means Los Catrachos will at least qualify for the playoff against New Zealand.
Honduras vs. Costa Rica: Final score 1-0, Catrachos clinch top 4 place
Jerry Bengtson scores in the 64th minute, meaning Honduras will do no worse than a playoff spot.

New England Revolution forward Jerry Bengtson provided the winning goal, taking a slick pass from Wigan's Roger Espinoza to get behind the defense. Bengtson easily finished the shot from right around the penalty spot. It was the 26-year-old's 18th career international goal, second best on Honduras.
With Mexico yet to play against Panama later in the day, Honduras is six points clear of both teams. Honduras would clinch an automatic World Cup berth if they tie Panama on Tuesday or if the Mexico-Panama game ends in a tie. Costa Rica, who has already qualified for one of the top three spots, remains in second place of the CONCACAF qualifying group, one point behind the United States.
