No one expected Mexico to struggle so much in their World Cup qualification campaign but two wins, five draws, and two losses from nine matches in the Hex has seen them sit in fourth place in the six-team group. They are now three points back of Honduras while maintaining a three point lead on Panama, who sit in fifth place.
Mexico reveals new kit with World Cup hopes hanging by a thread
El Tri have unveiled their new home kits for the 2014 World Cup which will be great for them if they actually make the tournament.

That lead on the Panamanians was a result of Mexico's 2-1 win at the Azteca against Los Canaleros last Friday night. It was a stunning goal from Raúl Jiménez in the dying embers of that match that won Mexico the much-needed three points as El Tri wore their brand new home kits in front of 90,000 at Estadio Azteca.
The new kits, once again from adidas, are the same famous shade of green that Mexico have worn for the last forever. This time, however, it’s just a bit different for El Tri. The green base features two shades of the color, split by a number of horizontal stripes and a white & red graphic that emanates from the national side’s badge in the center of the chest out onto the sleeves. The graphic, according to adidas, represents “the strength, passion and pride of Mexico.”
As with just about everything in football nowadays, the kit is extremely light. adidas say that it is the lightest kit in history with the shirt and shorts combining to weigh just 8.81 ounces which is pretty remarkable when compared to the weight of the super light adiZero F50 boot, which comes in at 5.8 ounces.
Mexico will be wearing the home kit for what may be their final match of qualification (if they either leapfrog Honduras or don’t make the cut at all) against Costa Rica on Tuesday Night at Estadio Nacional in San Jose. adidas is letting you Mexico fans pre-order the kit here.
