Everton may have not won away at Manchester City in almost three years, but they've had an impressive start to the season under new boss Roberto Martínez. In fact, they've yet to lose a game, and are currently on an excellent three game winning streak. They'll look to keep that record going this weekend, against a team yet to hit its stride under Manuel Pellegrini.
Manchester City vs. Everton: Preview and TV schedule
Manchester City have had a stuttering start to the season, and shouldn’t expect things to get much easier at home to Everton this weekend.
Currently down in seventh, City are five points adrift of league leaders Arsenal and two behind Everton. They come into this game on the back of being well beaten in the Champions League by holders Bayern Munich -- hardly a great confidence-booster. However, still arguably boasting the best group of players in the league, it's only a matter of time before things come together.
For this game Pellegrini has only two players unavailable; Martín Demichelis and Jack Rodwell. With neither a first-team regular even when fit, City will find no excuses on the injury list. Everton have rather bigger issues, with Antolín Alcaraz, Steven Pienaar and Gareth Barry all certainly out -- the latter ineligible against his parent club. Fellow regulars Kevin Mirallas and Darron Gibson could also be sidelined, facing late fitness tests.
Manchester City injuries and suspensions
Out: Martín Demichelis (knee), Jack Rodwell (match fitness). In doubt: None.
Everton injuries and suspensions
Out: Antolín Alcaraz (hernia), Steven Pienaar (hamstring), Gareth Barry (ineligible). In doubt: Kevin Mirallas (ankle), Darron Gibson (knee).
