Norwich turned in yet another poor first half performance on Saturday, and unlike in their match against West Ham before the international break, they didn’t have the ammo to turn it around. Newcastle were much less of a threat in the second half, but their two early goals were enough to see them hang on for a 2-1 win.

Things are looking up for Newcastle, who are nowhere near a relegation race after another solid win. Norwich, meanwhile, are in some trouble.
The opener came inside the first two minutes, with Norwich doing some horrible defending on a corner. Bradley Johnson stood still and watched as Yohan Cabaye's delivery bounced off the turf, then past him, right to the head of Loic Remy. The in-form striker nodded past John Ruddy, scoring his eighth goal of the season. Yoan Gouffran added Newcastle's second in the 38th minute, cleaning up a rebound in the box after Ruddy stopped a header by Shola Ameobi.
Norwich struggled to fight their way back into the game in the second half and never looked too threatening in front of goal until the 80th minute, when Leroy Fer headed in a corner to give his team a shot to make a comeback. It wasn’t to be, though, as the Magpies held on for a fairly comfortable home victory.
