For much of the first 45 minutes, they blew the Dynamo off the field and looked set to knock the two-time defending Eastern Conference champions from their perch.
Things could have gotten even worse for the Red Bulls because Cummings was fouled in the box, but Salazar inexplicably waved play on to deny the Dynamo a late chance to win the match.
