On Tuesday, the citizens of King County went to the polls to vote. Among the offices on the ballot was sheriff, which the incumbent John Urquhart was always going to win handily. He was running unopposed, after all, but that didn't stop some enterprising Seattle Sounders fans from giving him some competition.

Unfortunately, noted American hero Brad Evans did not win, but his dreams of being sheriff are not dead. Urquhart is ready to hand him the office for a day, albeit with one rather important string attached,

Evans is a good soccer player. He would be an even better sheriff. The Sounders aren’t just playing for a spot in the Western Conference final and bragging rights over their rivals anymore, now they are playing for the safety of King County too.
Tonight, we are all Sounders. Reporting for duty, Sheriff Evans.
