The Montreal Impact continued their superb start to the season by beating the Portland Timbers at Jeld-Wen field. Goals from Hassoun Camara and Felipe powered the visitors to a 2-0 lead, and although Ryan Johnson managed to net for the hosts it wasn't enough to stop the Impact from grabbing all three points..

Some quick thoughts
- There's not a single player in the world who wouldn't be proud of Hassoun Camara's bicycle kick finish. He had absolutely no right to score from where he did -- when the ball came down I figured that the right back was more likely to decapitate Marco di Vaio with his overhead kick than he was to beat Donovan Ricketts. That that shot went in was a miracle.
- Even if you ignore Camara's goal, Montreal had by far the better of the first half. The Impact were able to restict the space in front of their penalty box and looked consistently dangerous on the break. Bot di Vaio and David Arnaud had glorious chances to grab goals.
- I'm not entirely sure how Sanna Nyassi got away with his barge on Ryan Miller, but it was totally, definitely, one hundred percent a penalty.
- Someone should teach di Vaio what 'offside' is.
- Caleb Porter only talks with one side of his mouth and that's weird.
- The Timbers defence is still really bad. The second Impact goal was just completely incoherent from the midfield and back line -- any time Mikael Silvestre is one on one against a winger someone's screwed something up.Felipe was completely unmarked on the cutback.
- In the 69th minute, down by two goals, Porter brought off right back Ryan Miller and added Jose Valencia to the mix. It was a brave attacking substitution, and it paid off with Ryan Johnson's goal. Ben Zemanaski was far better in the defence than in the midfield, and had Valencia scored with his last-second chance, it would have looked like utter genius. He didn't, of course.
