Much of the focus will be surrounding England's trip to Podgorica, as Roy Hodgson's side hope to pick up the three points which would see them move a point above Montenegro and towards almost certain qualification. Likewise, coming off a frustrating draw with Finland, Spain must win in Paris if they are to move back to the top of their group.
UEFA World Cup 2014 qualifying: Important games throughout Europe
While all eyes will be on Tuesday’s late kick-offs, there are important games spread throughout Europe, with this round an especially crucial one in the battles for second places.
There's some more tasty action elsewhere around Europe, with Wales having the potential to surprise Croatia in Group 1, while only a win would settle Denmark's nerves and move them up to within a point of second-placed Bulgaria in Group 2. After Ireland gained a creditable draw against Sweden last time out, a win over Austria would move them up into provisional second place, though the same is true for their visitors.
There are some important games in Group 4 as the Netherlands host a Romania team currently level on points with second-place Hungary, who themselves travel to play a Turkey side in desperate need of a win to keep their hopes alive. With Portugal having failed to win in their last three qualification games, they are level on points but a position behind second-placed Israel. They will surely win in Azerbaijan, while Israel play Northern Ireland.
