Parma vs. Pescara, Final Score 3-0: Amauri adds insult to Delfini injury

It is Pescara's sixth straight defeat, extending their winless run to 11 games. Six points adrift at the bottom, surviving relegation now seems nigh-on impossible. As for Parma, they move up to tenth place with their second consecutive victory at home.

Pelizzoli was a busy man, called into action again minutes later when Nicola Sansone received a through ball from his fellow pint-sized teammate Sotiris Ninis, firing towards goal. But, the angle was closed down well, and Pelizzoli got down to deny the winger.

Just inside the 20 minute mark, Parma finally had the lead they had deserved. Cesena loanee defender Yohan Benalouane took advantage of some woeful corner marking to head into the net. Pescara didn't have their first effort for another ten minutes, though Gianluca Caprari fired over.

Half-time came and went with Parma looking very comfortable, and their lead was doubled soon after the restart when Gabriel Paletta capitalised on more woefully incompetent defending to stab in a loose ball from a corner.

Pescara did create chances of their own, and Elvis Abbruscato should have pulled one back when he nodded wide from point-blank range after the hour mark, though their poor finishing was punished. Seconds later Amauri netted one of the goals of the season after he chested a long ball down with his back to goal, before looping an overhead kick over Pelizzoli and into the back of the net.

Roberto Donadoni took the opportunity to use the rest of the match as a crowd-pleasing parade for two of Parma's future stars. 16-year-old Alberto Cerri was brought on before 21-year-old Filippo Boniperti was also handed his crociati debut. That, as much as the scoreline, is indicative of how comfortable Parma were in the end.
