Angel Di Maria injury: Real Madrid winger leaves Manchester United match

Real Madrid midfielder Angel Di Maria left today’s Champions League match against Manchester United in the 42nd minute after picking up a hamstring injury.

Di Maria pulled up as he reacted to a Manchester United attacking foray. He tried to finish out the half, repeatedly rubbing his hamstring before being forced to sit down on the pitch and allow the Madrid physios to come on and take a look at him.

After a short discussion, Di Maria was helped up and escorted off the pitch and straight down the tunnel by the medical staff. As you might expect, Di Maria looked none to pleased at having been forced to leave the match.

Jose Mourinho wasted little time making the change, bringing on the Brazilian Kaka in Di Maria’s place. Kaka barely got on the pitch before the halftime whistle so he’ll have to wait for his chance to make an impact on this one.
