Mallorca scored a massive victory in their relegation six-pointer against Celta Vigo thanks to a stoppage time goal from Giovani Dos Santos.

Both teams needs three points to keep their hopes of escaping the relegation zone alive, but it was Mallorca thanks to a stoppage time winner from Giovani Dos Santos, who claimed the win.
Los Bermellones remain in 19th place but they are now even on points with Real Zaragoza and a point behind Granada in 17th. Celta drop to last place, four points from potential safety with seven games left to play.
The first 20 or so minutes of the match was an exercise in overly careful soccer as two teams in desperate need of a victory looked extremely tight and afraid of making a mistake, which is completely understandable.Michael Krohn-Dehli's break and poor effort in the 20th minute seemed to relax Celta Vigo a bit and Mallorca weren't far behind on getting into the game.
In fact after that chance and roughly 10 minutes of decent possession from Celta, Mallorca got things going in large part thanks to Giovani Dos Santos. The Mexican international nearly gave his side a lead in the 30th minute, curling a wicked free kick over the wall from 25-yards that forced an equally excellent save from Javi Varas.
As the half went on, Mallorca's confidence increased and they came very close to breaking the scoreless deadlock on a couple set pieces but all their attempts were either off target or dealt with well by Varas.
Celta had the better second half by fair but it still didn’t translate to a goal, despite two half shouts for penalties that were ignored by the referee.
With stoppage time nearly over Mallorca stunned Celta and dealt the visitors a massive blow to their survival hopes. Tomás Pina’s long cross from the left side was headed down in front of Javi Varas where Dos Santos was lurking for the close range tap-in. It’s a glorious result for Mallorca and an absolutely heartbreaking result for the home side who may very well be on their way to the Second Division.
