Borussia Dortmund are headed to the final of the UEFA Champions League after holding off a late comeback bid from Real Madrid. Los Merengues won 2-0 on the night, but Der BVB won the tie, 4-3 on aggregate.
Weidenfeller’s strong half keeps things scoreless

Martin RoseGonzalo Higuaín got an early chance in the 5th minute after getting behind the Dortmund defense on a short ball after Marcel Schmelzer got caught out of position on the ball. Higuain’s first touch was light and forced the striker to make a second touch that gave Roman Weidenfeller the time he needed to close down and block the shot with his feet.
Two minutes later Mesut Òzil broke free on the right side and dragged his shot just wide of the post.

Gonzalo Arroyo MorenoJürgen Klopp’s lineup is unchanged from the first leg and who came blame him? After all, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Robert Lewandowski will be looking to have another magical Champions League night though the chances of him netting four goals again is probably too much to ask. Dortmund would probably be just fine with one, which might be enough to hammer the final nail in Madrid’s proverbial coffin.
