Bologna vs. Torino, preview: Mediocre mid-table fun!

Bologna, who are currently 12th in the table, play host to the team a couple of places behind them, Torino. Neither of these teams will be relegated and a top-half finish seems unlikely for both, meaning they'll be playing for nothing more than pride and minor placings at the Renato Dall'Ara. Both of these sides are seven time Serie A champions. How times change.

Having said that, they both still boast an Italian international attacker in their ranks -- Alessandro Diamanti for Bologna, and Alessio Cerci for Torino, and when they decide to turn up, they can be quite exciting to watch. Both Diamanti and Cerci are the key attacking outlets for both teams -- the former playmaking from a central position with the latter cutting inside off the right flank. These two players could be the difference in a game between two defensively disciplined sides.

Bologna have only been beaten by Juventus on their own turf since the start of the year, while Torino's counter-attacking approach is perfect for away games -- though they tend to focus on stopping their opposition scoring rather than beating them in a high-scoring end-to-end contest -- not that you'd think that if you'd seen them lose 5-3 at home to Napoli in the last round.

Worryingly for Toro, they are forced to leave centre-back Guillermo Rodríguez at home due to suspension, while three further first-team regulars are out injured: Matteo Brighi, Valter Birsa and Giuseppe Vives. For the rossoblu, Uruguayan international midfielder Diego Pérez is out injured, while full-back Marco Motta is suspended.
