Juventus vs Pescara, preview: It’s ok to just say no, Dolphins

Pescara have picked up just four points in 2013, leaving them sinking at the bottom of Serie A. Having to travel to Turin to play the league leaders is just pilling humiliation on top of misery.

Remember last time, Pescara? Of course you do. When Juventus paid a visit back in November, it was the week after they'd experienced their first league defeat in fifty matches. They took out their anger on you poor, poor Dolphins, scoring six goals. Fabio Quagliarella even completed a hat trick. There was nothing pretty about that match.

This weekend’s match follows the Old Lady’s first defeat in Champions League play, a 2-0 loss to Bayern Munich on Tuesday. Juventus are going to be upset and they’re going to look to take it out on an innocent bystander. Plus, Pescara, you’re coming to their home. If they scored six against you at the Adriatico, how many will land in the back of the net in Turin?

That's why it's ok to just say no. Have Cristian Bucchi come up with a good excuse. The highways to Turin are lined with bandits, and he fears for the team's safety. The match up between first and twentieth is simply unfair and FICG is wrong to make you play. Every squad member came down with food poisoning, smuggled in by a Palermo spy. Be outrageous, be outlandish, but remember: an automatic 3-0 loss is probably better than actually facing Juve.

Juventus Injuries and Suspensions

Nicklas Bendtner, Gianluigi Buffon, Martin Caceres, and Simone Pepe (injured); Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini (suspended)

Gigi Buffon was apparently feeling unwell soon after the Inter match, and with his flu-like symptoms still lingering, Antonio Conte felt it best to let Marco Storari step in this week.

Pescara Injuries and Suspensions

Antonio Balzano, Gaetano D'Agostino, Ante Vukusic, Vladimir Weiss, and Luciano Zauri (injured); Antonio Bocchetti (in doubt); Mervin Celik (suspended)

Do Pescara even have enough players to field a full squad and three substitutes? Maybe they can legitimately pull out of this match.

Match Date / Time: Saturday, April 6 at 6 p.m. local, 12 noon ET

Venue: Juventus Stadium, Turin

TV: Sky Calcio 1, ESPN UK, beIN Sport en Español, RAI Internazionale

Serie A is off to a roiling start (as long as you ignore Juventus). Also, a modest proposal to fix English football governance.
