Bayern Munich will be looking to erase last season’s bad memories with a win tomorrow

Tomorrow’s Champions League final at Wembley is a chance for Bayern Munich to exorcise some ghosts and put their stamp of dominance on this year’s European season.

Bayern Munich have not forgotten losing the 2012 UEFA Champions Final to Chelsea in their home stadium. They haven't forgotten watching the clear lesser side -- though better on the day -- lift the biggest prize in European club football as they could only watch and wonder what might have been.

As least they better have not forgotten.

Tomorrow’s final at Wembley is about many things but when it comes to Bayern Munich the storyline is simply redemption. It’s about shutting up the critics and lifting the trophy they probably should have won last year. Our Bayern Munich blog Bavarian Football Works addresses the ghost of last year’s final along providing all the facts and information you’ll need to be prepared for kick-off.

In 2012, Bayern just did not seem to want to win the home final, like Leverkusen in 2009. They had every chance to but lost it not once, not twice, but thrice. The third time is the charm; the third piece of the puzzle is what has propelled Bayern to great heights this season. But reaching great heights does not make a great team.

Who is out? Who is doubtful? What do the likely starting lineups look like? Bavarian Football Works has it all in their preview. Read up and you’ll be prepared to be the expert at your Champions League final viewing party.

What? You’re not hosting or attending a viewing party? Shame on you! Get to work, there’s still time!
