Barcelona vs. Malaga: Final score 4-1, The Blaugrana finish the season in style
Barcelona’s fairly painless 4-1 victory over Malaga propelled Tito Vilanova’s side to the 100 point mark, trying them with Real Madrid for most points earned in a season.
Barcelona wasted little time getting on the board, going ahead in 3rd minute when Andres Iniesta showed off his usual brilliant vision finding Pedro cutting inside a defender into the Malaga area. Pedro received the pass and one touched it across the box to David Villa who was wide open for the easy finish.
Cesc Fabregas doubled the lead in the 14th minute after some clever dribbling allowed the midfielder to create some space for himself at the top of the Malaga box. Again Iniesta was involved, playing a lightning quick one-two with Fabregas, that allowed him to get free a beat Wilfredo Caballero
Less than two minutes later Martin Montoya decided to get in on the fun, blasting a lovely low shot from outside the area inside the far post and past the diving Caballero and making it 3-0.
Iniesta expanded the lead to 4-0 early in the second half, finishing off a pass from Xavi but Malaga were able to responded four minutes later when Pedro Morales volleyed in a cross from Jesús Gámez, making it 4-1.
