Uzbekistan's World Cup dreams were dealt a seriously blow on Tuesday in a 1-0 loss to South Korea and nobody was more broken up by it than the match's lone goalscorer. That's because the his name is Akmal Shorakhmedov, and he put the ball in his own net.
Uzbekistan deals themselves World Cup qualifying blow with match-winning own goal
Akmal Shorakhmedov is the saddest man in all of Asia.
Uzbekistan are now down to third place in their group with one match to play, out of of the automatic World Cup qualification spot they held earlier in the day, and staring at two home-and-away playoffs to qualify for Brazil if they can't jump back into second place on the final matchday.
Someone give Akmal a hug.
