Brazil vs. Uruguay, 2013 Confederations Cup: Lineups

Uruguay and Brazil are back to normal after some injuries and suspensions. Their lineups are as expected.

Clive Rose

There are no surprises from either Uruguay or Brazil, who have fielded their strongest teams without going to any kind of trickery or weird tactical adjustments. David Luiz and Paulinho, who have suffered from minor injuries recently, return to the Brazil starting lineup. Hulk keeps his place over Lucas Moura despite struggling in the group stage. Uruguay has brought Diego Lugano back into the starting lineup after he served a yellow card suspension, while the attacking trident of Diego Forlan, Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani has been kept intact.

As a note, Uruguay has played with a back three and a back four in this tournament with this personnel, interchanging between the two in-game without substitutions on one occasion.

Brazil lineup (4-2-3-1): Julio Cesar; Marcelo, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Dani Alves; Luiz Gustavo, Paulinho; Hulk, Neymar, Oscar; Fred

Uruguay lineup (4-3-3): Fernando Muslera; Martin Caceres, Diego Lugano, Diego Godin, Maxi Pereira; Cristian Rodriguez, Arevalo Rios, Alvaro Gonzalez; Diego Forlan, Edinson Cavani, Luis Suarez

Kickoff is at 3 p.m. ET from Estadio Mineiro. You can catch the game on ESPN in the United States.
