Jamaica vs. Mexico, 2014 World Cup qualifying: Lineups

Mexico is unchanged from Friday’s game, while Jamaica have gone defensive at home.

'Chepo' Jose Manuel de la Torre has picked an unchanged lineup from the one that drew Nigeria in a friendly on Friday, and why not? Though the result wasn't great, his team was dominant until Pablo Barrera picked up an unlucky red card for a handball on the line. Hector Moreno and Giovani dos Santos, who sat that game out, were expected to contend for starting places but have been left on the bench.

Jamaica has picked their most conservative lineup thus far in qualifying. With speedsters Jobi McAnuff, Omar Cummings and Luton Shelton out of the squad, the Reggae Boyz are heavy on central midfielders and have gone with just one up top. Garath McCleary will be depended on to create chances for Ryan Johnson.

Jamaica starting lineup (4-5-1): Donovan Ricketts; Alvas Powell, Daniel Gordon, O'Brian Woodbine, Adrian Mariappa; Garath McCleary, Rodolph Austin, Marvin Elliott, Je-Vaughn Watson, Jermaine Hue; Ryan Johnson

Mexico starting lineup (4-4-2): Jesus Corona; Carlos Salcido, Diego Reyes, 'Maza' Francisco Rodriguez, Severo Meza; Andres Guardado, Gerardo Torrado, Jesus Zavala, Pablo Barrera; Aldo de Nigris, 'Chicharito' Javier Hernandez.
