Jozy Altidore headed the United States into a 1-0 lead a half hour into their CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier against Jamaica, and the US has carried that lead into halftime in Kingston. Some of the same defensive questions have popped up for the US, but Jamaica looks just as vulnerable in front of their goal.

It was far from a perfect half, but the Americans will gladly go into the locker room with a 1-0 lead over Jamaica.
The USA hit woodwork less than two minutes into the match, but Michael Bradley's shot was not fortunate enough to find its way into netting. The US were the better team over the first 15 minutes, but couldn't punch through before Jamaica found their footing.
Play had settled into a bit of a lull, but Altidore broke the deadlock in the 30th minute, heading home a wonderfully delivered cross from Graham Zusi. The goal is Altidore's second in consecutive games with the national team; the first broke the nearly two-year-long scoring drought he endured while wearing American colors.
Jamaica nearly went level in the 38th minute, but Rodolph Austin missed an open net and the ball bounced off the right post. Prior to that instance, the much maligned American back four had kept the mistakes to a minimum, but the Reggae Boyz began to look threatening before halftime.
