Jozy Altidore had a goal ruled out for offside early, but that only appeared to galvanise the United States striker, who's been running around and trying to blow things up for much of the match. He managed to get the goal his play deserved on the half hour mark after good work from Graham Zusi on the right. The Sporting KC winger whipped in a cross, and Altidore snuck in between Adrian Mariappa and Daniel Gordon to head past Donovan Ricketts.
Jamaica vs. USA: Altidore gives USA lead
Jamaica haven't shown much sign of being able to reply. Tim Howard was forced into a save by Marvin Elliot, but that was a speculative effort from range more than anything. The only outlet the hosts seem to have is the battle between Garath McCleary and Brad Evans, who is not a right back. But even when Evans is beaten, Jamaica aren't really applying anything in the way of pressure. It's 1-0 USA, and it's deserved.
