Southampton complete signing of Celtic’s Victor Wanyama
Southampton have completed the signing of Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama on a four-year deal, the club has announced.

The fee to sign the Kenyan is believed to be around £12m.
Wanyama, a tough-tackling and powerful defensive midfielder, joined Celtic from Beerschot AC in 2011 for a fee of around £900,000, so the deal represents a considerable profit for the Glaswegian outfit. Since that time he has established himself as a key members of the Hoops' midfield, and was instrumental in last year's Champions League run, where he scored in a memorable victory over Barcelona. He had been linked to a host of clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool before signing for the south coast club.
Southampton have been linked to several big-money moves in this window, but manager Mauricio Pochettino has clarified that the club are only interested in a handful of “quality” players. Another ambitious move has been touted for Leandro Damiao of Internacional, so the Saints may yet make even bigger moves in this window.
