USA vs. Cuba, 2013 Gold Cup: Lineups

Jurgen Klinsmann has made changes to his United States team in an attempt to get a look at more players.

The United States have made numerous changes from their opening game, with Jurgen Klinsmann hoping to get a look at a variety of players. Chris Wondolowski, who netted a hat trick against Belize, will start on the bench. A couple of players who were left out of that game -- which was played on turf -- because of their history of knee injuries get starts against Cuba.

United States lineup (4-4-2): Nick Rimando; Edgar Castillo, Michael Orozco-Fiscal, Oguchi Onyewu, Tony Beltran; Brek Shea, Stuart Holden, Kyle Beckerman, Joe Corona; Landon Donovan, Herculez Gomez

Cuba lineup: Odelin Molina, Jorge Clavelo, Aliannis Urgellés, Michel Márquez, Yoel Colomé, Renay Malblanche, Jorge Corrales, Jaime Colomé, Ariel Martínez, Alberto Gómez, Jose Alfonso

Klinsmann has set up his team in both a 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1 formation with this personnel. Landon Donovan has been better as a second striker than as a wide player in this squad’s two games, but Corona could play as an attacking midfielder and Donovan could play on the right wing. Holden, who recently returned from two years out with various injuries, makes his first start since 2010 for the national team.

Kickoff is just after 3:30 p.m. ET from Rio Tinto Stadium. You can catch the game on FOX or Univision.
