In the 48th minute of the Gold Cup match between Panama and Canada, Panama’s Jairo Jimenez took a long-range rip that Canada goalkeeper Milan Borjan got a fingertip to. The shot hit the crossbar and went out for a corner. This was the only thing resembling a significant event in the 0-0 draw between the two teams.

Because of their losses to Martinique and Mexico, it was highly unlikely that Canada would be able to secure a knockout stage place, regardless of their result in this match. At the same time, Panama only needed a draw to ensure that they would finish top of the group. These factors led the two teams to play a terrible match in which Jimenez's shot was the only one from either team that required a save by either goalkeeper.

Here’s to hoping Benito Floro can turn Canada into a team that is somewhat watchable. Panama await their quarterfinal opponent after putting together a solid group stage performance.
