Sergio Busquets signs a new contract with Barcelona
Barcelona’s defensive midfield anchor confirmed his commitment to the club signing a new contract that will keep him with the Blaugrana into 2018.

Barcelona Sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta confirmed the details of the three year extension for Busquets who has made 238 appearances for the Blaugrana since he made his senior side debut in 2008. Negotiations had been underway for several months between the team and Busquets.
The new contract has a massive buyout clause -- confirmed at €150 million - and an option for an additional year at the end of the deal.
The 25-year-old Spanish international midfielder isn’t always the most popular player with opposing fans due to his physical style, but he’s an important part of Barca’s system.
