Morgan De Sanctis' move to AS Roma was announced on the club's website, with the giallorossi stumping up half a million euros to bring the 36-year-old to the Olimpico. De Sanctis arrives on a two-year deal, after spending four seasons at Napoli.
Morgan De Sanctis signs for AS Roma
After Napoli signed two younger goalkeepers, veteran Morgan De Sanctis has joined Roma on a two-year deal.

His departure comes after Pepe Reina signed for Napoli on a season-long loan from Liverpool, with the Spaniard set to assume the role as first team goalkeeper under Rafael Benítez this season. Alongside Reina arrived young Brazilian keeper Rafael Cabral from Santos, who seems to be the long term answer to Napoli's goalkeeping question.
With these signings De Sanctis looked ever more marginalised -- despite having played in all but five of the partenopei's league games over the past four seasons. With Roma looking for a goalkeeper after Maarten Stekelenburg left for Fulham this summer, they've taken up the opportunity to sign the veteran for a cut-price fee. While only a short-term solution for the giallorossi, this transfer makes sense for all parties concerned.
