Norwich City announced the deal on their website, with Gary Hooper joining from Celtic on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £5 million. The 25-year-old was reportedly also subject to interest from Queens Park Rangers, though has elected to join the Canaries.
Gary Hooper completes move to Norwich
Striker Gary Hooper’s move from Celtic to Norwich has been confirmed.

Hooper has been a consistent goalscorer in the Scottish Premier League since moving to Celtic from Scunthorpe United in 2010, and is Norwich’s second big attacking arrival of the summer. He’ll partner record signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel up front this season, looking to reproduce the form that saw him score over 60 league goals for Celtic over the last three seasons.
“I have scored goals at every level I have played at,” Hooper stated upon confirmation of the deal, though his prior experiences of English football have all come outside the Premier League. Still, with a couple of talented strikers arriving at Carrow Road this summer, Norwich will be optimistic they can better last season’s meagre goal tally -- the joint third-lowest in the division -- this time around.
