Parma have confirmed that Antonio Cassano will join from Inter Milan, and will be officially revealed in a press conference tomorrow. In return, the crociati striker Ishak Belfodil will almost certainly head to the San Siro, with the nerazzurri also throwing a few million euros into the deal. Belfodil could be confirmed in the next few hours.

Parma have pulled off a huge coup in signing Cassano from Inter, expected to be part of a deal which will see Ishak Belfodil heading the other direction.

Cassano's move to the crociati -- who finished 10th in Serie A last season -- is a pretty big surprise, given that he can still be one of Italy's top playmakers when on form. It's possibly with the azzurri in mind that Fantantonio has been persuaded to make the step down, joining a team that will be entirely focused on his attacking talents, and maybe helping him find a place on Cesare Prandelli's World Cup squad next summer.
Aside from Cassano's personal ambitions, it's a huge signing for Parma, providing a creative spark not seen at the Ennio Tardini since Sebastian Giovinco left two seasons ago. Cassano should slot perfectly into a position on the left of Roberto Donadoni's attacking trident, while the inevitable departure of Belfodil -- who wasn't a regular starter last season -- probably won't concern the coach too much.
The gialloblu’s centenary season has certainly started in spectacular fashion.
