Honduras have gone light on first choice players in their squad like the other big favorites in this year's Gold Cup, but they're still big favorites to win Group B and will be expected to make a run to the semifinal if they avoid drawing the United States or Mexico a round earlier. They'll expect to get their campaign off to a strong start with a win over Haiti, though the Haitians are an unpredictable side with a history of respectable Gold Cup performances.
Haiti vs. Honduras, 2013 Gold Cup: Preview and TV schedule
Honduras will expect to avoid the fate that Mexico suffered on Sunday and win to establish themselves as group favorites.

Osman Chávez and Jorge Claro are the most experienced players in the Honduras team, while youngster Andy Najar should get a chance to shine and play his way into a bigger role with the first team for World Cup qualifiers. There's also a spotlight on Mario Martinez after talks broke down between him and the Seattle Sounders. The Gold Cup could be his job interview for other teams.
Haiti have a number of players who ply their trade in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 complimenting a mish-mash of lower league and domestically-based players. Forward Peguero Jean Philippe, who plays in Haiti, has 21 goals in 23 matches for his country and tore up the 2012 Caribbean Cup, the qualifying tournament for Gold Cup.
