Switzerland vs. Brazil: Preview and TV schedule

During last year’s summer friendly tour, Brazil looked less than spectacular at times, but now they have a shiny trophy to prove they’re actually very good. On Wednesday, they take on Switzerland.

Brazil will bring the gang back together for the first time since their Confederations Cup win for the first of many warm-up friendlies in the run up to the World Cup. The first friendly will happen Wednesday when they travel to face Switzerland, who are close to punching their ticket to Brazil.

Switzerland was given the benefit of a fairly easy group draw in UEFA qualifying and have made the most of it. They've also been the beneficiary of less than stellar performances from Norway and Slovenia, who were expected to put up more of a fight. The Swiss have a number of experienced players in their late 20s, but they're built around younger players like Xherdan Shaqiri, Granit Xhaka, Ricardo Rodriguez and Mario Gavranović.

Brazil's team for this friendly looks similar to their squad for the Confederations Cup, but with a few slight changes. 31-year-old left back Maxwell could get his first cap ever for his country, while Fluminense's Jean has been recalled to the squad ahead of other central midfield options.

Match date/time: Wednesday, 2:45 p.m. ET, 8:45 p.m. local

Venue: St. Jakob-Park, Basel, Switzerland

TV: beIN Sport (U.S.), BT Sport 1 (U.K.), Globo (Brazil), RTS Sport (Switzerland)
