The Houston Dynamo's trip to Trinidad and Tobago was supposed to be their chance to capture three crucial road points, but an uninspiring performance turned it into a failed opportunity. The Dynamo were short on ideas and urgency in a 0-0 draw with W Connection, leaving them two points back of Group 1 leaders Arabe Unido.
W Connection vs. Houston Dynamo: Final score 0-0, Dull draw in Trinidad and Tobago
Houston’s visit to W Connection didn’t go as planned.

The draw leaves W Connection with almost no chance of advancing to the knockout stages, as they sit on one point after two matches. Arabe Unido lead the group with the Dynamo in second after one match apiece.
Houston managed just eight shots, none of them especially dangerous. They were playing without several starters and despite 10 corner kicks, the Dynamo never showed the same potency on them that they normal have on set pieces.
The best chance of the game went to the home side, who really should have won. Neil Benjamin found himself wide open in front of goal and somehow managed to miss the frame, gifting the Dynamo a point.
With just one point from Trinidad and Tobago, Houston needs all three points when they host Arabe Unido next week. If they can’t get the win, Arabe Unido will have first place and a home match against the Dynamo left, leaving them in the driver’s seat to win the group.
