Inter Milan announced the signing of Saphir Taïder on their website, with the Algerian international arriving for a reported €5.5 million. He had spent the last couple of years at Bologna, establishing himself in the first team last season after several impressive midfield performances.
Inter Milan sign Saphir Taïder from Bologna
Inter Milan have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Bologna’s Saphir Taïder.

The 21-year-old scored five goals in 51 appearances at the Renato Dall'Ara, though his defensive contributions were more valuable. An energetic box-to-box midfielder, Taïder spent as much time sweeping up opposition attacks as breaking forward from midfield. With an all-round game akin to Gökhan Inler and Valon Behrami -- who were both brought to Napoli under Walter Mazzarri -- it's not surprising that the new Inter coach has been keen to land Taïder.
However, whether he’ll be able to break into the Inter first team this season remains to be seen -- the nerazzurri now have eight central midfielders fighting over three spots in the starting 11. With Mazzarri famed for putting his faith in experience over youth, Taïder may have warm the bench with other frustrated central midfielders, like the relatively youthful Zdravko Kuzmanović and teenager Mateo Kovačić.
